Terms of Service

These terms set out the agreement between you (the customer) and TT Locksmith Ltd (trading as "TT Locksmith") when you request locksmith services from us. Booking a job by phone or WhatsApp means you accept these terms.

1. Who we are

TT Locksmith Ltd, a limited company registered in England and Wales under company number 16953411, trading as "TT Locksmith". Service area: Tottenham, London N17 and all of North London from our Tottenham base.

2. The service

We provide 24-hour emergency locksmith services, primarily: lockouts, lock repairs, lock replacements, broken-key extractions, cylinder upgrades, and post-burglary security work. We attend in person, assess on arrival, and carry out work with the customer's consent.

3. Pricing

Prices are set out on our pricing page and are confirmed verbally on the phone before we leave our base. The price confirmed on the phone is the total you will pay for a standard non-destructive entry call-out:

  • No VAT is added (we are under the UK VAT threshold).
  • No separate "call-out fee" is added on arrival.
  • No weekend surcharge is applied (Saturday and Sunday are priced by time of day only).
  • Bank holidays carry a £25 premium on top of the relevant time-band rate.

Parts (new cylinders, new locks, new gearboxes) are charged separately as disclosed on arrival, for example £120 for a BS Kitemark 3★ anti-snap cylinder replacement. No part will be fitted without your verbal consent and a disclosed price.

4. Non-destructive entry and consent to drill

We attempt non-destructive entry first on every job. In our experience this succeeds on roughly 80% of calls. Where picking is not possible within a reasonable time, or where the lock's construction prevents it, we will:

  • Explain why picking has failed.
  • Quote the flat price for a drill-and-replace (including the replacement cylinder).
  • Only proceed with your explicit verbal consent on the doorstep.

If you decline the drill option, we will stop the job and charge the call-out rate for the relevant time band.

5. Payment

Payment is due on completion of the job, on the doorstep. We accept card (contactless and chip-and-pin), cash, and bank transfer. Invoices and receipts are issued via email or SMS on request. Payment is not required in advance.

6. Warranty

All parts we supply and fit are covered by a 12-month warranty against manufacturer's defects, from the date of installation. The warranty covers free replacement of the part and associated labour to refit, provided the fault is not caused by damage, tampering or abnormal use. The warranty does not cover:

  • Forced-entry damage (attempted burglary).
  • Accidental damage.
  • Wear or failure of parts not supplied by us on the original visit.

Labour on our original lockout service (i.e. the act of opening the door) does not carry a warranty once the door is open, that service is complete.

7. Cancellation

You can cancel a booked call-out at any time before we arrive, by phoning 07939 979 445, with no charge provided we have not already begun work on your doorstep. If we have already arrived and started work, the call-out fee for the relevant time band applies in full.

8. Proof of residence

For your security and ours, we may ask to see photo ID with proof of address before opening a lock. This is a protection against people hiring locksmiths to gain entry to properties they don't own or rent. If you cannot provide proof of address, we may decline the job at our discretion.

9. Our liability

We carry out all work with reasonable care and skill, in line with the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Where we are at fault for damage caused during a job, we will repair or replace the damaged item at our expense.

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for:

  • Death or personal injury caused by our negligence.
  • Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
  • Any matter where it would be unlawful for us to exclude liability.

Outside of the above, our total liability for any one job is capped at either the amount you paid us for that job, or £1,000, whichever is higher.

10. Your statutory rights

Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
