Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal data TT Locksmith Ltd collects, why we collect it, and what your rights are under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Who we are
TT Locksmith Ltd (trading as "TT Locksmith") is a limited company registered in England and Wales under company number 16953411. Our registered area of operation is Tottenham, London N17. For the purposes of UK GDPR, TT Locksmith Ltd is the data controller of any personal data described in this policy.
What personal data we collect
When you phone us
Your mobile network will pass your phone number to us as part of making the call. We note the number on our phone, along with a note of your postcode and what the job was, so we can remember the job if you call again.
When you WhatsApp us
WhatsApp Business passes your phone number and message content to us. Message content is stored in our WhatsApp Business app until we delete the chat (typically within 90 days of job completion).
When we visit you
To provide the service, we need your name and address (so we know where to come and whose door we're opening). For security reasons, we may ask to see photo ID with proof of address on arrival. We do not retain photocopies of ID, it's checked and handed back.
When you visit this website
Our web host (Hostinger) keeps standard server access logs including IP address, browser version, and pages visited. We do not set any cookies beyond what is strictly necessary for the site to function. We do not use Google Analytics or any other analytics tool on this site.
If we later enable Bing Ads conversion tracking (the Microsoft UET tag), that will be disclosed here first, and the relevant cookies will be listed. As of April 2026, no UET tag is active.
Why we collect it (lawful basis)
- To perform the contract when you ask us to attend a lockout we cannot do the job without knowing where you are and how to reach you.
- Legitimate interests for keeping records of work carried out, so we can honour the 12-month parts warranty if you call back.
- Legal obligation to keep accounting records (payment amounts, dates) as required by HMRC for up to 6 years.
What we don't do
- We do not sell your data to anyone.
- We do not share your data with third parties except as required for payment processing (our card terminal provider) or by law.
- We do not send marketing emails, SMS, or phone calls, not unless you specifically ask us to.
- We do not build profiles of visitors for advertising.
How long we keep data
- Call / WhatsApp logs: up to 90 days after the job is complete, unless needed for a warranty call-back.
- Job records (name, address, work carried out): 6 years, as required by UK accounting law.
- Card payment records: handled by our card terminal provider under their policies.
- Server logs (website): typically 30 days, handled by Hostinger.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- Know what data we hold about you.
- Ask for a copy of that data (a "subject access request").
- Ask us to correct data that's wrong.
- Ask us to delete data, unless we're legally required to keep it (e.g. HMRC accounting records).
- Ask us to stop using your data in certain ways.
- Complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or 0303 123 1113, if you think we've handled your data wrongly.
To exercise any of these rights, call 07939 979 445 . We'll respond within one calendar month.
Cookies
This website does not use any cookies that require consent as of April 2026. If that changes (for example, if we add Bing Ads conversion tracking), we will update this page and display a clear cookie banner before any non-essential cookies are set.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top. Minor clarifications may be made without notice.
